John R. Landon

John Landon established Landon Homes in 2008 with a vision to continue building exciting designs that are also energy efficient. Landon Homes will build over 100 homes in its first full year.

Mr. Landon founded Legacy Homes in 1987, which combined with Monterey Homes in 1997, forming Meritage Homes Corporation. Mr. Landon, co-founder and CEO of Meritage (NYSE: MTH) from 1997-2006, led Meritage to become one of the country’s premier residential home builders, achieving $3B annual closing revenues at its peak.

Prior to starting his first company, his experience included land acquisition/development for Nash Phillips Copus (NPC), at the time the largest privately held homebuilder in the US, sales and land development for the Trammel Crow Residential Group, and public accounting with Ernst & Whinney.

During his career John Landon built over 40,000 homes spanning twelve markets and six states.

Mr. Landon received his BS in accounting from LSU.
