Stephen P. Doyle
President, Brookfield San Diego Builders
Mr. Doyle is currently president of Brookfield San Diego Builders. He joined Brookfield in 1993 and was named president of the San Diego and Riverside division of Brookfield Homes in January 1996, the position he holds to date. Headquartered in Del Mar, Calif., Brookfield Homes designs and builds master planned communities and single- and multi-family homes for move-up and luxury buyers. The company's homes are found in master-planned communities in San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial Counties.
Mr. Doyle earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from San Diego State University in 1980 and a J.D. in 1984 from the University of San Diego, School of Law. He is a Registered Civil Engineer and he is admitted into the California State Bar Association.
Mr. Doyle has worked in the construction and development industry for most of his career. He started with Nasland Engineering, a general civil engineering company. Upon graduation from law school, Doyle joined Pardee Construction Company as vice president, project manager, and assistant legal counsel. Doyle then joined The Baldwin Company as vice president of facility planning and engineering, a position he held until 1993.Mr. Doyle was elected president of the San Diego Building Industry Association in 2001. He served as president for the California Building Industry Association in 2005. He has served as a board member for the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce and continues to serve on the Civil Engineering Advisory Board and the College of Engineering Advisory Board at SDSU and joined the University of San Diego School of Law Board of Visitors in 2007. Mr. Doyle recently completed a special committee appointment by the California Air Resources Board, serving on the Regional Advisory Targets Committee for the implementation of SB 375 for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction.
He is the President of the Board of the Construction Industry Alliance for the City of Hope, having raised more than $2 million for cancer research in the past five years. Doyle was named to the California Building Industry Hall of Fame in March 2007 and received the SDSU Outstanding College of Engineering Alumni Award, earning him the coveted "Monty" for 2008. He was inducted into the San Diego Building Industry Hall of Fame in February of 2009. Steve and his wife, Lynne, received the Volunteers of the Year award from the Home of Guiding Hands in February of 2009 and the Tower Crystal from the San Diego State University School of Civil Engineering in October of 2009.The Doyle family resides in San Diego. They have two children in college and one in high school.
