Mark D. Campbell

President & COO, Southwestern Ivestment Advisors


A Colorado native with more than 30 years of accounting, brokerage, and real estate development experience, Mark Campbell has a reputation for “getting things done right” with integrity and innovation. As the founder and president of Southwestern Investment Advisors, Inc. (formed in 2009) and earlier, Southwestern Investment Group, Inc. (formed in 1994), Mark spearheaded numerous multi-million dollar development projects in Colorado, Texas, Florida, and Arizona. Southwestern and its more than 80 affiliate companies successfully and profitably own, develop and/or manage shopping centers, multi-family apartment complexes, raw land projects for mixed, commercial, or industrial uses, as well as multiple water resource assets (sand, gravel and mineral mining operations, water development projects, and surface water and subsurface aquifer water rights projects). The company currently manages assets in excess of $250 million for its investment partners (chiefly single asset limited liability companies).

Specifically related to his property management expertise, Mark has first became involved in property management of retail center when he set-up the property management company for North American Acquisition Group in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in 1988. Mark personally managed a portfolio that grew to 1,000,000 square feet of Publix and Winn-Dixie anchored shopping centers throughout the State of Florida. As the direct property manager, Mark gained experience in virtually every type of property management matter, including lease administration, accounts receivables, accounts payables, maintenance, capital replacement, common area reconciliations, litigation, budgeting.

While in Florida, Mark increased his level of expertise as a director of leasing and property management of HHH Companies out of Miami, Florida. Mark managed a portfolio that grew to over 15 centers and 1.2 million square feet. In 1995, Mark moved home to Colorado and started his real estate development company, beginning with the development of 120,000 square foot Kroger-anchored shopping center in Westminster, CO. The Colorado-based firm’s property management portfolio grew to 16 shopping centers in excess of 1.5 million square feet. Prior to Ms. Roberts joining the SWIA, Mark managed the properties the properties and he continues to provide support and final decisions on asset management issues.

There is virtually no property management issue that the firm has not encountered and successfully resolved.
