Kip Gilleland
President, Leading Builders of America Colorado Division
Kip Gilleland started his career in commercial real estate in 1992 before moving to the residential construction business as director of development for a leading builder in Phoenix, Arizona in 1996. He identified and negotiated acquisition of properties, planned and managed budgets of up to $35 million, administered a $49 million land development budget in 2001, and maintained profit margins exceeding the national average.
In 2002, Gilleland became director of land development for one of the nation’s largest builders in Phoenix where he administered a $425 million budget while directing land development strategies and projects. In 2003, he joined another national builder in Phoenix where he planned and administered $750 million in budgets for 42 new communities. Gilleland successfully designed 40,000 lots and developed 6,000 home building lots.
In September 2009, Gilleland, former vice president of land resources for Taylor Morrison in Arizona, was appointed Colorado Division president for the leading national builder. A Colorado native, Gilleland oversees the acquisition and development of new communities and the introduction of exciting new floorplans as Taylor Morrison enhances its top 10 position in the Denver area market.
>A creative leader, Gilleland is known for his project coordination and budget administration skills and is experienced in permitting processes, government relationships, corporate communications, and financial management. He is also knowledgeable in regulatory compliance and staff development. Gilleland earned his B.A. degree from the University of Utah and holds membership in various home builder and land development organizations. An avid outdoorsman, Gilleland and his wife, Jessica, are the proud parents of three daughters.
