Josh Rowland

Principal, LAI Design Group


Josh Rowland, BLA, RLA serves as Principal at LAI Design Group. In the capacity, Josh brings a strong background to both small- and large-scale planning a design projects. He is highly experienced in the areas of urban design, community master planning, resort planning and design, and the management of large-scale construction projects. Throughout his professional career, Josh has successfully managed clients’ projects from concept to final product. He brings a detailed insight to how a project moves from paper to reality, thus assuring the client of the delivery of a solid project that accurately meets their specifications.

A selection of projects Josh has worked on with previous firms includes: Venice Beach Refurbishment, Venice, California; Concept Planning for the Port of Lost Angeles, Foot of Avalon/Bannings Landing Redevelopment, Los Angeles, California; Avila Beach Front Street Reconstruction, Avila, California; Monterey Catellus Water Front Redevelopment, Monterey, California; East Dunes Residential Community, Monterey Bay/Sand City, California.

Josh is the author of The LARE Review Section C Vignettes and The LARE Review Section CSample Exam, both published by Professional Publications Inc. He is a member of The Home Builders Association, the American Institute of Steel Construction, and associate member of the Urban Land Institute. John is registered as RLA in California and Colorado.

John holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, AR; is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Design Executive Education Program at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA; and is a co-instructor in a licensing preparation class for landscape architects in conjunction with the ASLA Colorado Chapter.
